Moment of Silence

<EXHALE>

I think it's time for a moment of silence.
I'm tired of the sound of my own voice.
I find it to be critical far too often these days.
So just for a moment,
Let's have some peace and silence.

Phillippians 4:8 (NIV) reads:

Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true,
whatever is noble,
whatever is right,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable—
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—
think about such things.

For my purposes, I will have to add:
SPEAK only about such things.

I don't like negative, critical people.
Fortunately, I have the good sense
To realize when I am being one of those people.
I don't know why I have this air of
I know it all.
That is so unattractive.
Arrogance is so unbecoming.

I don't want to be that person.
Lord, guard my tongue.
Help me to exercise self control.
If I can't say something positive,
Help me to say nothing at all.
Father, forgive me for the ways
I have been unkind and disrespectful.
Thank You for reminding me that
I am accountable to You.
